La Passacaglia update

Our La Passacaglia workshops are in full swing.  Wow!  Do I have some eye candy for you!!  Be inspired and send me your pictures!

IMG_8079We met last Wednesday.  Here’s one of Karen’s rosettes.

IMG_8087And another that she started in class.  She had several others and I didn’t get a picture of them. Trust me when I tell you she has a great look!

IMG_8077Here are some of Jackie’s rosettes.

IMG_8078My fav.

IMG_8068Joyce came back to class; she was well prepared!

IMG_8069These belong to her.  We use foam core board to hold our rosettes until they are sewn together.

IMG_8070She used 1/2 square triangles for the center of this one.

IMG_8071Her fabrics are from all the quilts she has made.  This is close to my heart.

IMG_8085This is her Seattle rosette.  How special is this??

IMG_8072My fav.

IMG_8073Here’s Beverly S’s first rosette.  Yes, that is a fussy cut star.  It is so awesome.

IMG_8075And her second.  11 days since her first workshop.  I’m betting on her.

IMG_8004Ann couldn’t be at class but I took a picture of her first rosette.  I love this!

IMG_8005Fowler came to the Saturday workshop and learned the technique.  I’m taking credit for those stitches.

IMG_8024She got along quite nicely.

fowler's la pass March 2016She sent me this picture.  Hooked.

IMG_8007Beverly continues to amaze us.
IMG_7872

I worked with her a couple of weeks ago to plan a section of her quilt.

IMG_8003It’s coming along quite nicely wouldn’t you say?

IMG_7906

Ginny is her partner in crime.

IMG_8001She has started to add her stars.

IMG_7883Sue came over a few weeks ago to help me plan a section of mine.  We came up with this.IMG_7890

I added some “parts.”IMG_7898

Here’s a closeup of that top teal rosette.

IMG_7992And here’s the finished product.  Fun!

IMG_8051I’ve started on my second section.

IMG_8065We all know it is all about the tools.  Nobody knows more about tools than Joyce M.  Here’s her new light.

IMG_8063Here’s the box it came in because I know you all want one.

IMG_8066Here’s her new Superbob of colors.  I am very jealous of this.

Next workshop is Sunday, April 3 from 2:00 until 6:00.  The Wednesday workshop will meet on April 20 from 10:00 until 2:00.  The Saturday workshop will meet on April 30 from 10:00 until 2:00.  Come join the craziness!!!

The La Passacaglia Workshops

I have started the La Passacaglia quilt workshops at Trailer Stash Fabrics.  I just wanted to share a few pictures of what my “peeps” are making.  I think it is remarkable.
IMG_7805Here are the rosettes from our second La Passacaglia workshop.   (Next time I will take better pictures.  🙂  Five beautiful beginnings.  IMG_4391 (2)Ginny’s outer ring of stars on her first big rosette.IMG_7614Beginnings from my very first workshop.  So sweet!

IMG_20160217_242127613 (1)Here are Jackie’s first six rosettes.IMG_7666

IMG_7742

My second big rosette.IMG_7740What my own design wall looked like on February 7.IMG_7736Carol’s first rosette from the Saturday workshop.IMG_7735Katie’s first rosette.

IMG_7869So here’s Beverly’s first big rosette.  She has decided it will be the center of her upper left quadrant.  I could look at this all day.  We met for a little while today at Trailer Stash Fabrics just to “take inventory.”

IMG_7870These are the other rosettes she has finished.  Her job is to arrange several of them around that first big rosette.

IMG_7872So she did.  Crazy fun.

IMG_7873Now she has to choose “star points” to blend all the cogs together.   She picked a few fabrics today; she is well on her way.

Aren’t these amazing?  It will be fun to watch them grow.

I’m offering workshops on the third Wednesday and the first Saturday of each month.  If you are interested, let me know.  I’ll have the kool-aid ready for you.  🙂

IMG_7537Patchwork border and outer border.  WOW Mary Ann!

IMG_7528Debbie’s center and swags.

IMG_7529

IMG_7530She’s concerned about the dark outer border.  It changes the center so we are researching alternatives.  🙂

IMG_7525

Paula’s center.  She still needs leaves…dark green leaves.

IMG_7526

Pretty wonderful!

Here it is in all its glory.  Amy Butler and Ella Blue orange stripe binding made a great combination.

IMG_7476

Noodle-head wide zipper pouches.  Tutorial here.  I have mentioned this tutorial so many times.  Tanna showed a pouch a LONG time ago and we have made lots of them.   Anna Graham has a new book called Handmade Style.  It is wonderful.

Open Sew/Sew Day pictures

I had my first Open Sew at Village Fabric Shop in December.  It’s a night class.  We are meeting on the second Thursday of the month from 5:00 until 9:30.  It’s a great group of women; come join us!IMG_7371Jennifer is embroidering the names of her daughters into the christening gown they will share.  She wrote the names with a Frixion pen and used a fabulous Alabama Chanin embroidery floss for the embroidery.  I am in love with that floss!

IMG_7367Jennifer also finished a runner using Alison Glass fabrics.

IMG_7369Love this “make do.”  She ran out of binding fabric and substituted a little Tula Pink.  Perfect!

IMG_7365This is Steph’s original design.  Machine appliqued, machine quilted.  First attempt.  AWESOME.

IMG_7364Also from Steph.  Original design.  It’s just wonderful.  She has an Etsy shop.  Check it out!

IMG_7374Mindy’s Christmas presents.  These are drawstring bags from a May Chappell tutorial.  Mindy had them monogrammed.

IMG_7376Good looking!

IMG_7373Back to Steph.  She made these knit pajamas for her little girls.  Cloud Nine knit.  Unbelievably soft.  We were impressed!

I have other pics but can’t show them because they were Christmas presents, yet to be finished and delivered.

IMG_7172

Gina Allen and I also have a Sew Day at Trailer Stash Fabrics.  That class meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 10 until 4.  Here’s one of Beverly’s blocks.IMG_7165Linda S’s churn dash from a Kim Diehl pattern.
