Here’s a wedding signature quilt that Deborah is making for her daughter. She bordered each of the blocks in Denyse Schmidt’s fabric. She used the huge design board at Trailer Stash Fabrics to plan it. Her daughter will love it!
Just hooked a new appliquer. This is a perfect bubble. Jane is “living on the edge.”
“Let me see the back of your work.” HAHA Nice straight stitches on the back lead to invisible stitches on the front.
I love it when my beginners just move forward. Second quilt for Jane from Skip the Borders. Yay!
We were intrigued with Jennifer’s quilt. Laminated back.
Quilted by Karen Thompson. Ice cream cone pantograph. Very fun!
Here’s Gaye’s t-shirt quilt. Nicely done!
Carole’s latest log cabin. I LOVE THIS.
Her newest sewing machine cover.
A wall hanging for her husband.
Her “Sew Mama Sew” modern sampler top. Wow!
One more log cabin. Show worthy.
Diana’s Alison Glass sampler. If you like to embroider, these samplers are great. The design is pre-printed; no drama trying to get it ready to stitch. Layer the pattern with a backing fabric and you don’t have to worry about knots or shadowing as you stitch. These are available at Village Fabric Shop.
Diana also tried stitching on a fat quarter of Alison Glass’s black and white fabric. This looked great! Gina has this out at Trailer Stash.
Carole’s almost finished tuffet for her granddaughter.
Jennifer’s FINISHED paper pieced quilt. Yay!!
Her zippered bag for her La Passacaglia stuff.
Inside. No more zip lock bags for Jennifer!
This is an armchair caddy she made. Love the fabric choices!
Alison’s first attempt at paper piecing. Nicely done.
Jennifer’s king-size quilt is officially under way. This is another great quilt from Skip the Borders.
My finished “Petals on a String.” Sheri Collette quilted this; it’s hanging at Village Fabric Shop. All Amy Butler fabric on that great green background. Amy picked this and kits are available at her shop.
Make some 8″ pluses. This quilt is in Anna Graham’s new book,
Add a little big stitch hand quilting. I used 50 wt. linen thread. The lines are about an inch apart.
Back it in voile and bind it. Yum.
Hmmm…
I’ll go with this one. Have
Here’s a close-up of what she did on her domestic. Amazing.
I did a little more matchstick quilting. Yes I did. Laura had it so stable that even I could do it! I like the look of this matchstick. Perfectly straight lines are awesome but these kinda wavy lines and different thread colors (Laura’s idea) make me really happy.
Wash it and let it dry. I just love how it looks! It is soft and wonky and a little baby could be sitting in the middle of it.
One more. This one was quilted by Laura on her long arm.
I gave her credit. 🙂 I saw this bias tape binding method on
When I wash my quilts, I hang them over the shower rod to dry. I don’t like to put them in the dryer until they are almost dry. A wet red fabric can bleed in a too hot dryer. Not good.
I love it! I’m teaching “The Plus Experiment” as a class at Village Fabric Shop. Go to my class schedule page for the dates. I’m teaching it once a month. Come to one or come to all of them.
Center.
Star ring.
Here are Joyce’s rosettes. Remember that each rosette uses fabric from a quilt she has made.
This beautiful big rosette is from her Southern Album fabrics. Happy memories! Joyce is planning to use the same neutral fabric for all her stars.

My very happy yellow quilt for the little babies in NICU at Baptist Hospital.
Michele’s fabric folding system. I know I have talked about this before but it fascinates me. I bought the card stock. I need to find time to fold. 🙂
She stacks them upright in a book case.
Emily sent me this picture. It’s her second quilt. (I taught her how to quilt. 🙂
Jane sent me this Beads picture. Isn’t it beautiful? I did NOT teach Jane to quilt; I learn lots from her.
Here’s Vaughn’s first quilt.
And here’s Vaughn basting her first quilt at Village Fabric Shop.
This is what I ended up with when I randomly pulled my Tula Beads log cabin strips. I really like it.
My dear friend, Barb, made this t-shirt quilt. Pretty awesome!
So Katie took Michelle’s folding method to heart. She shared these pictures from her bookcase.
Sometimes you just KNOW it’s going to be a beautiful quilt. This is Sister Brigid’s next quilt.
Vaughn’s next quilt. Original design. Made for a friend who is not well. She quilted it herself.
Amy made me make this; she picked the background. HAHA “Flowers on a String.” I really like it. It’s being quilted and I’ll teach it late this fall. It’s fun!
The back.
Heart of the Triad Quilt Guild just celebrated its 20th anniversary. I was honored to be the first president. Here’s a picture of the signature quilt that the guild members made for me.
Pigma pens do mark permanently.
Gina Allen quilted this little fishy quilt for me. I raw edge appliqued the fish and the bubbles. Such a great baby quilt!
She sent me this picture after she finished the top.
Here’s Sue’s beginner quilt on the design wall. Sue is from Florida and her happy fabrics show it! She was so much fun! No pressure Sue just because Jane is done. HAHAHA
There’s always something pretty fabulous going on in my Wednesday evening Open Sew. Steph is marking her Irish chain in this picture.
Fowler is appliqueing her Thistle Thicket. SO pretty.
Original design from Jennifer. She gave this as a wedding gift to her sister…lucky sister. 🙂
Carrie’s Maple Leaf. Blocks are finished; moving forward!
Laura made this awesome clothesline basket in a class at Sewingly Yours.
Here’s the beginning of her next bench from Anna Graham’s book, Handmade Style.
Steph’s newest creation. Original design. Talented group of women.
Katie’s La Pass. She has a system.
She wowed us with her smocked dresses.

And finally, Laura’s equilateral triangles. How’s that for perfect piecing??
Katie has a system. 🙂 She furiously preps during class so she can sew at home. (She has three beautiful little children.)
She plans to use dark stars in her rosettes.
Becky has her lower left quadrant almost finished in this picture and we are kind of jealous.
Amazing fussy cutting.

Fowler has two beautiful rosettes and some Heather Bailey stars…
Joyce is making her rosettes from leftovers. Each rosette represents a quilt she has made. How cool is that?? This was her Serendipity Sampler. 🙂

Here’s one of her big rosettes. Look at the weave. You are awesome Joyce.
(Southern Album.)
This one might be my favorite.
I finished this Giant Dresden for
Here’s the label.

Diana’s newest creation. I love this look.
Laminate on the back.
Another one.
Also a laminate back. Jennifer said she washed them and dried them and they survived quite nicely.
Carole’s ribbons. Love.
So this is what I made this summer. haha It’s a Fair Isle cap for Margaret. It’s a little warm to wear it right now but winter will eventually be here.
Kay’s newest applique creation from Kim Diehl’s patterns. I love it Kay!
Another Kay 🙂 made this fishy quilt in my beginner applique class. (August is full; I just put another class on the schedule for August 30 at 9:00. Come join me!) It’s the perfect baby quilt.
Sue’s very first rosette. That’s an awesome Tula Pink True Colors fussy cut center folks.
Michele’s beginnings. Navy stars. She has a rainbow plan. Stay tuned.
Karen T’s rosettes. They glow.
Making fabric choices. Look at that star.
Partial rosettes.
Love what she is doing with the outer pentagons.
Another arrangement. Excited for you Karen!
All of Jackie’s rosettes so far. She is planning on using 3-4 gray fabrics to EPP her stars.
One of Jackie’s rosettes. See how the inner ring is 1/2 and 1/2? Love it.
Gina B’s rosettes. Why did I not take more pictures of these??? She used solids in some of her rosettes. It’s so peaceful and we absolutely loved it. I call it the sherbert La Pass.
Beverly S’s rosettes. Yummy. She has a wonderful selection of Kaffe.
OK, so here’s the tip of the day my friends. You know how frustrating it is when you can’t find your acrylic templates because they are CLEAR??? Beverly taped 1/4″ quilter’s tape around the edges. You can still see the fabric but you can also see your template when it is trying to hide from you!! Brilliant! Thanks Beverly!
Steph is attaching the binding to her original design quilt. She designed and pieced it and then machine quilted it. She is self-taught.
This is Laura’s beautiful quilt, binding attached. THIRD quilt. Extremely good workmanship; perfect points. It’s about 50″ square so it’s larger than it looks in this picture. She machine quilted this one by outlining the chevrons; exceptional. It’s going to her goddaughter.
Here’s Mindy’s block from a LQS block of the month; she needed a quick repair. It’s so pretty!
Fowler! Fowler literally made me teach “Thistle Thicket” last year. Here’s her hand appliqued top.
She picked out the Amy Butler fabric for her border and worked back. Notice the color placement on that pieced border. She’s on Theresa DeWalt’s list…
She’s also working on the La Passacaglia quilt; she’s in my Saturday workshop at Trailer Stash.
I made her prep and stitch stars. She changed her mind a couple of times.
It was fun to watch her begin to piece this and then completely change her mind about placement. Jennifer is like that.
Mindy set up her nani iro Liberty baby quilt and finished piecing one of the 16-patch blocks. I love the light nani iro.
She also attached the binding to her beginner quilt…yes, I did teach her how to quilt last April. She’s had a productive year!
Carole finished “Lazy Sunday.” It’s a great color combination.
Amy finished one too! Yay Amy!
Carole’s batiks quilt.
The back. Carole said it was an oldie that just needed binding.
Diana’s coasters. Nice job on the circular binding!
The beginning of her next quilt.
We are in love with her text fabrics. Something new to collect!!!
Jennifer’s penguin quilt. So stinkin’ cute.
Carole’s newest finish. We all wanted this one.
Her last two blocks from the Sew Mama Sew block of the month.
Yep.
The inside of Diana’s daughter’s bag. Diana, you do the BEST work with these!
Our fishy quilt tutorial. This is off to Gina to be quilted…stay tuned.
How about THIS top from Kaye T?
She was trying to decide which fish to use. #1 won. 🙂
Here’s a show and tell from me. Paula gave me this kit a LONG time ago. I just finished it.
I have to add these three photos from my “Beads” class. Here’s Ann’s. It’s a mix of her fabrics.
Sandra’s batik “Beads.” It glows.
Cydney’s Tula “Beads.” She used manatee gray from Free Spirit. I want to make another one…
