All three blocks. She is going to make one hexie sash to see if she likes the look. 🙂 Love, love, love her bride.

Here’s the progress report on her quilt top. Fabulous. You inspire us Ginny!!

I stitched the stem and leaves for my first block. Then I started adding “stuff.”
I ended up with this. I decided the vase fabric wasn’t right so I changed it…
…to this. Not a huge difference but I like it.
Trying out some leaves for my second block.
From the pattern…
…to the fabric.
I pinned her parts together. Remember paper dolls?? I used an Amy Butler fabric for her pinafore.

Almost ready to stitch her together. I really don’t like sticking pins in her.
She got moved to the small foam board mat. I thought about removing her pantaloons but decided to leave them.
Here she is all stitched up! She does have a face! I’ll show you in the next post.
Same process for the 4th block. I stitched the stem and glued down the leaves.
I prepped all the pieces.
And here’s the final block.
And here are all four of them on my sewing room floor. We will talk more about that hexie sashing later. 🙂
Fowler’s round robin is finished.
Jennifer is machine quilting her round robin.
Here’s Laura’s.
Mindy’s round robin.
Steph worked on this in class.
She sent me this picture of the finished product.
Her Riley Blake challenge quilt.

Jennifer’s alphabet quilt. She’s machine quilting this. She used a 2.5 inch strip for her sashing and we loved the light teal background.
A closeup of one of the blocks.
Cupcake has shiny thread. 🙂
Fowler is hand quilting her Flowering Vine. She’s using masking tape to mark her lines.
It’s going to be beautiful.

Jean’s sashiko quilt.
Fabulous hand quilting.

I worked on my Bari J quilt. Lots to do but I really like the process.

I got a call from
Here’s the ribbon to prove it. Her Open Sew peeps were pretty proud of her and so am I.
My daughter-in-law needs a new throw so Steph created this little gem. I’m still looking for the green fabrics and then I’ll get busy!
Andrea e-mailed this picture to me. So right!!
Robin also sent me a picture. She has been very busy. Sunshine!
Ginny P’s finish. Theresa DeWalt quilted this for her. It’s so fabulous!! Why did I take only one picture???
Joyce’s finish. Quilted by Gina Allen. She added a border. It is the PERFECT frame!

Fab.

The bicycle rosette.
Close up!

Jeanne’s start. We liked her dark blues.
A good beginning! It’s a long process…one step at a time.

She’s planning on making a deconstructed La Pass. She will applique her rosettes on a background.
Pretty awesome way to sew a star ring…somebody is always coming up with a better way…
I taught my first 2018 class on New Year’s Day!! Patsy and Katie wanted to learn the basics of the alphabet quilt so we started bright and early. The sunshine was wonderful and we had a great time.
We had lots of days like this in January.
Fortunately, our children gave us a new coffeemaker. Ours was very old. 🙂 A good friend gave me the thermal cup: sewing makes everything better. For sure. Hot coffee on a cold day.
I worked on my Bari J blocks. Lots of log auditions.
Settled on this color combo.
Made this.
I started knitting a sweater for Roscoe. He is very patient.
I worked on my #barijquiltalong blocks some more.
Progress shot. Not liking the rail fence at the bottom. That will be a redo. Fowler and I are pondering.
I taught a beginner embroidery class for “Nevertheless” at Jennifer’s house. First time doing that. Very fun! She was a great hostess!
I taught this class a LOT in January. This beauty belongs to Beverly.
My Meals on Wheels quilt. I’m trying to make one quilt a month for their 2018 Christmas distribution. My friend Carol M donated the flannel.
Remember my cross stitch piece from December?
I worked on this a lot in January. 🙂 I have a lot to do! Bring on February!
