Binding is not one of my favorite parts of the quilting process. To make it “easier,” I bind the four corners of my quilt first. I miter the corners and stitch down the folds. My buddy, Mrs. Goodneedle, is the binding expert! She glues her binding before she machine stitches it. She will hand baste it and then hand stitch it to the back of her quilt. She shared her method with me and it’s pretty wonderful. The bound edges are straight and full and pretty!
So back to the four corners…I just wanted to share the remarkable quilting that my buddy, Ginabean did for me. I think it is her best work ever! Looking at that quilting as I stitched made it not so bad. 🙂
PS If you decide to bind with Essex linen, you might want to cut your bindings about 1/4″ larger than you normally use. It’s great stuff but it is a little bulky!
Here’s the full picture of “Ceiling Medallions.” Thanks Gina!
